Teaching Philosophy

Students, regardless of past difficulties, handicaps, or learning disabilities, are capable of excelling in their coursework when taught in a systematic, step-by-step fashion that takes into account their learning styles and how their minds absorb information. At Wayne State University’s School of Social Work, I served as a Writing Mentor for undergraduate BSW and graduate MSW students. I conducted seminars on Research Writing; Grammar; and APA Style and Formatting. At WSU’s Academic Success Center, I served as the Training Assistant Coordinator for the Tutoring and Supplemental Instruction programs. It goes without saying that my passion is in Student Success, Your Success.

I don’t believe in failure and neither should you! You are in school for a reason. You want to better yourself. You want to build a better future for yourself and your loved ones. You want to achieve your highest potential in life. I am here to help you succeed but you must play your part and be fully engaged.

School can be stressful. Life can be stressful. Remember you are not on this journey alone. When you are feeling stressed out, not sure about certain requirements, are in need of feedback, or have questions, I am one email away! Be sure to talk to me about obstacles that are preventing you from becoming successful in the classroom. It is better we catch obstacles sooner rather than later and come up with a plan of attack. I am here for you. Your fellow classmates are here for you. Let’s all work together as a team, fully supportive of one other. Get excited about contributing to the discussions. Read course material on time. Study hard for exams. And then pass those exams. In the end, I can’t wait to congratulate you on your success!

I am an expert teaching in 100% online environments (DeVry University & Ashford University), having taught 22 sections to over 700 students to date. Regardless of the subject, I am teaching, I am passionate in helping each of my students become a success story.
