My name is Norma Gonzalez, and I have a master's in lean manufacturing. I've been very blessed to have been with General Motors now for 10 years. I started with them in high school. They helped me through my bachelor's program with my industrial engineering degree. So moving forward with my next degree, Kettering just seemed like the next stepping stone. Kettering definitely has a reputation of being a school with high levels of education, great expectations, and I wouldn't have expected anything less. I think, as an industrial engineer, we have a lot of areas which we can potentially find our niche. And going into lean manufacturing, I knew that that would give me an opportunity to grow and to find perhaps an area which I could really excel in. Initially, I think I struggled a bit just trying to understand what it was going to take. This was the first time I did an online course. Once the classes began, they provided all the opportunity for me to grow and thrive. And I realized that I could take exactly what we covered or what we reviewed and utilize it in my day-to-day duties or tasks. This is an accelerated program. You will have to put in hard work, but it's all worth it.
