Learn the language of empowerment and leadership to communicate more effectively!

You are invited to join us for a five-week workshop, which is tailored to women in a range of leadership roles and designed to encourage self-reflection through both online group discussions, weekly live sessions, and individual journal writing. Exploring the nature of self-sabotage and additional obstacles we, or others, place in the way of our success is not easy work, yet it is essential for creating the personal and professional life we deserve. Following are some of the topics covered in the workshop.

How Social Roles and Beliefs Impact Our Sense of Self

Living in a world that can be racist, misogynist, sexist, homophobic, and transphobic impacts our self-worth, from childhood to adulthood, in traumatic ways. The first step towards working through consequences of having adopted these roles and beliefs is to identify them and see how their effects show up in our lives so we can handle them in more positive and productive ways.

Understand Barriers Placed by Intersecting Forms of Oppression

The concept of intersecting oppressions is an assertion that people are often disadvantaged by multiple sources of oppression. For example, a disabled man who is also African American and gay will likely experience racism, discrimination for his disability, and homophobia; multiple oppressions may also be experienced by a transgender woman of low socioeconomic status with autism. Once we understand the barriers that have held us back for so long, we can use new tools and techniques to overcome them.

Conquer Perfectionism, Imposter Syndrome, Self-Sabotage, and the Fear of Success

Understanding why and how we doubt ourselves, and the ways we sabotage our personal relationships and professional positions is imperative if we want to live a life of authenticity and empowerment. Identifying negative self-talk, and all the ways we sell our selves short, is a worthy endeavor especially when combined with learning new tools for changing the way we react and respond to the world around us.

Learn the 4 New Tools for Change

Clarity, compassion, creativity, and sass are new tools you can use to fend off your inner saboteur and conquer the obstacles standing between you and a more confident, authentic, positive, and empowered you! The workshop is designed to show you how and when to implement these new tools.

Learn and Apply the Language of Empowerment and Leadership

Learning how to identify and respond to warning signs indicative of past trauma, developing “I” language, and “I need help” asking skills are additional tools you can add to your new toolbox for change.

· Workshop meets for five weeks as a hybrid course with light reading and discussion forums, then meet online, for two hours, once a week

· Pre-work begins on Feb. 14th, 2022, live sessions run for five weeks from Thursday, February 17, 2022, to Thursday, March 17, 2022, from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm (Eastern Time)

• The cost is $500.00 for the workshop

· The workshop encourages lively interaction between participants and the presenter. Participants can also schedule individual appointments with the presenter for feedback.
